Ann Pajuväli’s video work offers a fragmented glimpse into everyday life in Väike-Õismäe. The clips, accumulated over the years in the artist’s video archive, form a repository of experiences that mark the passage of time, the cyclical ticking of the clock, moments of idleness, small joys and the act of creating a place in the city while playing with its boundaries. The video, recorded with a phone and a video camera, conveys a sense of homeliness, familiarity and the ordinary.
The work explores the time between rest and action, celebrating sketchiness, experimentation and wandering. It reflects on a period that many of us tend to avoid due to discomfort, often filling it with activities that lead to overwork. Pajuväli seeks to find peace in aimless being, recognising the importance of such time in the creative process and the act of working.
